This may be the last chance for the UK to stop Julian’s extradition

The two-day hearing may be the final chance for Julian Assange to prevent his extradition to the United States. If extradited, Assange faces up to 175 years in prison for exposing US war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Julian’s supporters have called for a mass protest at the court on the days of the hearing. They welcome all those who support press freedom to join them in London and worldwide.

Assange has been in the high-security Belmarsh Prison since his arrest on 11 April 2019.

The upcoming hearing will be held before a panel of two judges who will review an earlier High Court decision (6 June 2023) which refused him permission to appeal. If Julian’s case cannot be reopened, he faces immediate extradition unless the European Court of Human Rights intervenes.
